Brabham Automotive has lifted the silk on its new track-only BT62 hypercar in London this week, boasting V8 power, race-ready aerodynamics and a sub-1000kg dry weight.

The first offering from Brabham Automotive is said to “reward like no other”, with a mid-mounted, naturally-aspirated, quad-cam, 5.4-litre V8 that delivers 522kW of power and 667Nm of torque.

Drive is sent direct to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential automatic transmission– and though detailed performance figures have yet to be disclosed – the car weighs in at just 972kg (dry), so it's safe to expect it will get along at a reasonable tilt.

Featuring a full carbon-fibre body and a track-focused aerodynamics package, Brabham Automative claims the BT62 generates more than 1200kg of downforce.

Stopping power is provided by carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers front and rear, and bespoke Michelin slicks that hug lightweight 18-inch wheels for maximum circuit grip.

The BT62 will be built on local soil at a facility in Adelaide and will be limited to just 70 units, paying tribute to the 70 years since motorsport legend Sir Jack Brabham began racing Down Under.

Brabham Automotive announced that pricing would begin at £1 million, which is roughly $A1.8 million, and that the first 35 units will be liveried to reflect each of Sir Jack's 35 world championship victories.

Customers of the BT62 will also have access to a driver development and experience program, affording them access to the Aussie-built hypercar's full potential.

Deliveries are expected to start later this year.
