The go-fast Kodiaq RS is inching closer to debut, with Skoda today confirming more details ahead of its official unveiling at the Paris Motor Show next month.

A new video focusing on the Kodiaq's production reveals some new info about the latest RS model, including its full-LED headlights, standard virtual cockpit (the digital driver's binnacle used to such great effect in Volkswagen and Audi product), and Skoda's Dynamic Sound Boost system, which will pipe glorious and throaty engine noise into the cabin.

Skoda has already confirmed the RS will be powered by "the most powerful production diesel engine" in the brand's history: a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel good for 176kW and 500Nm, sending its power to all four wheels. Adaptive suspension joins the standard features list, too.

While Skoda's local executives have made no secret of how much they want the Kodiaq RS, and they are pushing for it, Skoda classifies Australia as a hot-weather climate. It means that, for our market, there are extra engine cooling requirements, and that engineering work is yet to take place.

The latest from our market is that Volkswagen Group Australia is currently seeking reclassification. So watch this space.
