Hyundai's incoming i30 Fastback is getting a warmed-over variant, with the brand today revealing a new performance-tweaked N Line model.

Not quite the fully fledged fire-breathing N-stamped performance car, the N Line model will get a chassis tweak, a new suspension tune and some sporty exterior design tweaks. It'll be the second warmed-over i30 model, with the brand previously confirming a N Line version of its i30 hatch.

Details are a little scarce for now, but Hyundai is promising sportier suspension, better engine response (though from the 1.4-litre T-GDI engine not currently offered in Oz) and a meatier exhaust note. The N Line promises to hold the road more firmly, too, with its 18-inch alloys shod in PS4 Michelin Performance rubber, partnered with bigger brakes.

“Our second Hyundai model available with the new trim, the i30 Fastback N Line, enables even more customers to experience the N feeling,” says Hyundai Europe's VP of marketing and product, Andreas-Christoph Hofmann.

“The i30 Fastback N Line combines the elegance of our five-door coupe and a distinguished selection of dynamic N Line features. Our N Line trim is made for customers who want to spice up their i30.”

Designed to draw on the look of the full-fat N cars, the N Line model gets some silver accenting at the grille and new black bezels at the headlights. At the rear, you get the bumper from the Fastback N, including its rear diffuser. Inside, you'll find N-stamped sport seats, a new steering wheel, metal shift pedals and a new N-style gearshift.

There is no word yet on whether the Fastback N Line will make it to Australia, but the brand's local arm has confirmed the hatch version will debut here, so watch this space.
