Kia Stinger GT 2018 review: snapshot
- Price N/A
What we like
- Easy, comfortable performance
- Brilliant balance of personality and practicality
- Very well equipped for under $60k
What we don't
- Auto slow to drop gears when pushed
The GT sits at the very top of the new Kia Stinger range, with its $59,990 list price sitting $4000 above the 330Si mid-spec V6 model and $4000 over the top-spec four-cylinder GT-Line.
Beyond the 330Si’s spec list, the GT adds nappa leather trim, flat-bottomed steering wheel, driver’s seat bolster, lumbar and thigh adjustment with memory settings, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless Qi phone charger, 360 degree camera, 7-inch driver instrument display, head-up display, GT performance gauges and laptimer, 15-speaker harmon/kardon audio auto dimming side mirrors, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alerts, LED active headlights with auto high beams, auto tailgate, sunroof, alloy trim highlights and scuff panels, and GT-specific five-spoke machined-finish 19-inch alloys.
Like all Stinger 330 models, the GT is equipped with a 272kW/510Nm 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 engine paired with an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Reinforcing its genuine performance cred are Brembo brakes and a mechanical LSD. The official combined fuel consumption figure is 10.2L/100km.
