Ford Mustang Bullitt 2018 spied testing in Shadow Black

Following the Bullitt special edition's Detroit motor show debut in January, this prototype has been spied wearing 'Shadow Black' black paint while undergoing testing in the United States months before it's due to go on sale.

Visible Bullitt features include a pony-free grille, chrome window frames, a Bullitt boot badge, 'NitroPlate' exhaust tips, and red Brembo brakes. It is missing the Bullitt-exclusive 19-inch'Torq Thrust' alloys in favour of mismatched regular Mustang wheels for testing.

Despite Steve McQueen's original Mustang famously being 'Highland Green', black has been an option on the past two iterations of factory tribute versions in 2001 and 2007.

While black will return for the US market, Ford Australia has confirmed that the Australian version will only come in green.

We're still waiting for a definite launch date and Australian Bullitt pricing, but we're expecting to learn more on October 17, which is also the 50th anniversary of the 1968 Steve McQueen film by the same name.

Do you think the Bullitt looks better in black? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
